Compared to jewmerica things aren't so spaced out and vast.
Doesn't take a long car drive to reach the coast or even hop a bus or train, or even walk if close enough, I suppose there's more rivers too.
Look up any town in the UK on Google maps and go in first person for an idea.
Look up llanelli if you want to see the town I grew up in and went to college
