Yes, I get the distinct feeling that long-term, the Islamic State catastrophe has only managed to cause a lasting Islamic burnout in the Mideast. In the 21st century, we are going to see a new wave of Muslim secularism, likely to rival the 19th and 20th centuries. It will in fact be superior and more profound to that of the modernist era, cause this time it will come from within. Iran will probably be one focal point of it.
