I've recently seen the movie 'Pleasentville' from 1998 and I was wondering if it is just the worst possible shit ever created or if there is some 'clever meta social commentary' going on in that movie that I don't get?
Basically, the movie has two kids from current times go back to a typical 1950s scenario (i.e. the good old times when women were faithful and pure) and turn it into modern day (i.e degeneracy). I'm not sure if the people who made this movie wanted to be super egdy and destroy the 'evil previous generation who was so backwards in their ways' or if they do some meta shit about how turning the 'old values' into degeneracy is actually not cool?
Any ideas?
