Its pretty simple, you can just download oracle virtual box and put linux on your usb, I've heard that linux kali is good for this kind of shit. Then plug it in and run through the virtual machine. Dont even need to install anything. Its optional though, windows is fine unless you know you will be investigated. But the main thing really is using tor browser with bridges.
