I do not believe it's real.
It is highly publicised on this board, initially as a joke but now people are starting to believe it's real.
The largest case study, including 1015 participants was taken from Sexual Abuse Volume 28, Issue 1, in this review it actually said that women were more repulsed at the idea of zoophilia than men. Out of the 1015 participants on average women scored -2.85 and men scored -2.76 .(-3 being very repulsed and +3 being very aroused). The difference between the 2 coming as 0.12 on Cohen's d, which elaborates the magnitude of difference between two results.
In addition, the only 2 philia that woman found more repulsive than zoophilia was toilet play and paedophilia.
Review of cases, case series and prevalence studies of zoophilia in the general population is a review of 13 studies, including the review previously mentioned, of the prevalence of zoophilia on the general population. It came to the conclusion that it was 2% for men and women both. It is likely to be higher in men than women, but due to the small amount of research and data on the topic a more statistically accurate result can not be derived.
Bare in mind that this is Zoophilia - the sexual arousal of non-human animals, NOT dogs exclusively. This makes me believe that only a very small minority have any sexual attraction to dogs whatsoever, the vast majority being completely disgusted by the idea of having any sexual activity with a dog or animal.
