If you don’t own a business, aren’t debt free, and have to pay rent, you are a slave to other people who can decide one day to fire you, steal your property, and evict you. Actually you are worse than slave because slaves had their basic needs taken care off as long as they gave everything they produced to their owns, us modern day slaves don’t even get this as there are wagies who can’t afford afford food and shelter without government assistance.

The lower classes have always been dependent on the elite: first slavery, then feudalism and serfdom, then capitalism.
A serf from medieval Europe or an English worker in Victorian England are essentially slaves, but they have different forms of slavery.

Slavery is the ultimate objectification of the human as an industrial tool. It's funny how humans can go from complete dehumanization to being tortured to death to protect their ingroup.
