I think this can be an interesting thread to know about other's cultures. For the case of Spain I have to say that there are some differences between the north, the capital and the south. In the north in general people are very dry and close minded, they stick to their childhood group of friends and rarely accept new people so yes it's difficult making new friends here. If you live in Catalonia and don't speak Catalan you're fucked too because nationalistic Catalans (which are not by any means a minority) will give you bad looks and marginalize you even more kek. In Basque Country since Basque language it's super hard and less than 20% of native Basque people speak it people are way more tolerant and they won't care you only speak Spanish. I think that Catalonian personality is very unfriendly and even rude to foreigners and new people.
The south of Spain is much friendlier and people will accept you into their groups of friends easily but there's also much more backstabbing and people pretending to be something they really aren't. Since they only speak Spanish there you won't have any problems with the language and nationalists, which is a relief. And the capital (Madrid) is considered the friendliest because many people moved there to work or study so they are more interested in making friends and meeting new people, since they left their old social life in their home towns. The locals are more used to people from other parts of the country and the world so there's less prejudice.
Edit: See this blog and the comments from foreigners living in Catalonia. Rudest part in Spain for sure kek.
