In Western Europe, patriotism used to be very big in the past. It had replaced religion as the most popular cope to endure your shitty life during the 1800s. Proles with horrible jobs or sent to die in wars could tell themselves that at least, they were contributing to their country's greatness. But now it's kind of a joke. Hearty displays of patriotic fervor are acceptable only in sports, otherwise everyone thinks you're a bonehead or a hypocrite. An excessive interest in your country is deemed loser behavior, and there's ample sociological evidence that those who vote "far right" (against globalization) are indeed losers.

My impression is that while patriotism is still popular in the States, it would only take a few major military defeats inflicted by Russia and China to break the spell.

Most of them have simply been taught "Murica we number one!" or "they a-hates us cuz of 'r FRAYDOM!" This is all by design of course. So then these gullible (mostly working class, less educated) people will send their kids off to die in wars for the Israelis.

You'd think that after the troops come back missing limbs and with PTSD for the millionth time only to then have their benefits cut by the same politicians that "support" them, that dumb Americans would wake up. Nope! You can thank FOX News for keeping dumb old people in flyover states "infromed."

Yeah which is why I don't ever have to worry about a draft because I know there are plenty of cucks out there that will go out to die for Israel with no problems so it'll be easier to hide underground. In Russia pretty much it. We live kinda poorly, but lots of patriotism everywhere, TV included. We even have daily propaganda TV shows called "Time will show", where people would just sit and tell you how bad U.S. is, and how soon it will fall, just like Soviet Union did in last century.
