You could win some money in a very short period of time but the problem with gambling is that it's too addicting and you may end up gambling all of your money away. I've been thinking about gamblemaxxing for awhile now but the problem is that I would feel awful even after losing insignificant amount of money. I value my money a lot and knowing that I've lost even a little bit of them would make me furious and I wouldn't be able to sleep too. I may try with 5$ and If I lose them I won't try ever again. Are there any brocels here who gamble online ?

The house always wins, online or in person. They're more likely to be rigged online. And they need people to lose to make a profit

You could become a billionaire? Why not try? What do you have to lose? Just-throw-away-all-your-money-because-in-addition-to-being-ugly-you-are-also-stupid theory

i've seen people who turn 5$ into 100$ for example and if that happened to me I'd be the happiest person for awhile.

Those people are the exception to the rule

only low IQ's get addicted to gambling, anyone who understands basic statistics and how rigged it is won't even get pleasure from some pretty UI interface
online gambling is really popular in my shithole country believe it or not. There are some people who win a lot. The thing is that I am very unlucky person so I am just going to end up wasting 5$ instead of buying a cigarette pack.

it is not really as rare as you think it is. The beginner luck is real but the thing is that you won't keep winning. A smart person would stop after he reached his winning goal but most people keep playing thinking that they can win more.

I think about Gambling often. Only just now I was tempted to Gamble £50. Then I said to myself, what if I lost it though, wouldn't that be lame?

I am usually into slot machines as I am too low iq to know how to play blackjack or anything of that sort which has to deal with cards. I am going to get brutally humiliated in blackjack. Pressing the slot button is probably going to give me tons of dopamine.

what happened ? Was it because of online casino or regular casino ? I would appreciate if you took your time to tell me your story because I am really considering it.

online casino, talked about it in this thread:

You're better off learning to trade Bitcoin. If you trade "scalping" style, making quick trades, and you use leveraged futures trading, it's basically a video game. Except it's a video game you can make an astonishing amount of money with.

Literally you can start with $10 and with leverage you can trade it up into thousands of dollars.

It takes practice though. And whatever you do, never, ever, ever use a lot of money to start with cause you will absolutely lose all of it until you learn trading discipline, stops, triggers, charts etc.

losing 9k is absolutely brutal I do not know how you even live with yourself after that. but losing 5$ won't hurt that much I guess.

On the site I was using I did test gambles of 100$ for about 3 times and I always made 80$ or less no profit. I tried it 3 different times

brutal indeed, I have an older brother who kinda helps me out financially otherwise I wouldn't be posting here :feelsrope:

Yeah I'd be thinking about that 24/7 and would probably rope over regret. I am going mad over losing 3 bucks on the streets let alone losing 9k. Well that has to do with me being taught my entire life that you should value money.

aren't there bonuses when you first deposit money in ? I've heard that they give you around 30 or 40 bucks bonus that you cannot withdraw.

I'm still tempted from time to time to engage in different forms of gambling activities. hopemaxxing til the end

you cannot win back your money brocel. 9k is too much and even if you start winning you are going to start losing again if you keep indulging in this behavior. Do not disappoint your brother who is kind enough to support you through this hard time.

true, it's an addiction

Yes but it doesn’t mean you’ll get profits with that money either the chances are way to low .

IQ is maybe a big part, but not all of it. you can get addicted to unhealthy foods despite knowing that it is simply just bad for you in the long run, your brain chemistry overrules the silly attempts of your concious mind to take control with ease. Prob specific genes relating to self-control, more so than IQ, that play the biggest role in determining if you can or can't resist

I don't like when people compare gambling to a physical chemical.
It's psychological in nature unlike foods or drugs.
So I think IQ plays a big role.
There are a lot of ways to cheat in gambling like knowing everything about the machines and how they operate but I am too low iq for that shit. IQ plays a big role whether you become an addict or win a little bit and then take your money and go home happy.

yeah, especially when you get addicted to the rush of gambling on it's own, you kinda forget that you started this to win money and are now solely attracted to the risky act, regardless of the outcome.

nah brocel, everything is brain chemistry (through external or internal influences), you can get a drug-like high without taking them with some sorts of activities (maybe not as strong and harder to achieve, but still)

I forgot the exact reason but AFAIK our brains evolved to seek these kind of uncertain rewards. Same mechanic plays into all the lootbox BS in games and the appeal of ARPGs and similar types of games based on RNG loot drop.

All I find right now is this but I remember having read a better, more detailed hypothesis for an explanation.
We often find ourselves to be more motivated by rewards of unknown magnitudes than by known rewards because the uncertainty makes it feel like a game. However, this effect, which is known as the motivating uncertainty effect, only occurs when we focus on the journey towards the reward and not when we focus on actually winning the reward.
This is a relatively novel area of study. Up until recently, the majority of research on uncertainty focused on its negative effects. That makes its positive impacts an exciting new area of study, but it means that, as of now, our understanding of the subject is still quite limited.
