There really aren't that many options to work abroad as US citizen, tbh.
You pretty much need to be in a high level position with an American corporation that has installations and/or affiliate companies in other markets (countries), and essentially you're at the corporate level in terms of position and they may need your skillset abroad if there is a lack of available workers with your experience and education level.
The other option is ESL, which is quite competitive (in some sense) as there are many applicants. Although, those jobs never pay much nowadays, and it's more about the chance to work and "immerse" yourself in another culture and country for a while, which may look good on your resume.
The easiest way is to already be employed by an American company that allows your job to mostly, if not entirely be done remotely as long as you have an stable internet connection and laptop, and they only need to see and hear you through the occasional Zoom or Skype meeting, but the rest is just you on a PC for 7-10 hours a day.
What you generally don't want to do (and it's nearly impossible anyway) is to work in another countries labor force. Besides, you will always lose out to a applicant that's already a citizen in said country, and you're just a foreigner.
