Welcome to Incels.is - Involuntary Celibate Forum

Welcome! This is a forum for involuntary celibates: people who lack a significant other. Are you lonely and wish you had someone in your life? You're not alone! Join our forum and talk to people just like you.

Is it just my impression that the "rewards" in life for anything you do are way, way too small in comparison to the effort put into it?

This completely affects my entire perception of life and everything in general.

It's just so weird. It's like you have to tire yourself out and work ceaselessly merely to ... survive. You have to go above and beyond, work from sunrise till sunset to maybe even have a small chance of getting anything good.

And life is so random and unfair too. Not only does hard work barely pay off (but if you don't do the work you're even more fucked), but hard work is not even what gets you the really good things in life.

Idk, I can't put it into words very well. It just seems so odd how everything is lackluster in life. Like, in a better world for 8 hours of work you'd be rewarded with something great, making those hours and hours, day in day out of work, which feels like torture, making them feel like worth it. But all you really get is ... congrats, you can survive to work another day.

But it's not just work. For example, muscles. Work for hours every day for years and maybe you'll look good, but if you stop it goes to shit quickly. And any skill too - you work for years and maybe you'll become mediocre, but even if you become an expert it's not like you'll make any money out of it, it will just be a hobby you're good at in most cases.

Ohh right and let's not forget that in the meantime your body deteriorates as you get older, so not only is improving at anything hard, but you are actively fighting against time.

Shit I really hate this universe, why was I born here?

Rewards are determined by genetics

This is why women dont even try I think

Men on the other hand understand delayed gratification
