Personally I like "grim" and horror climate in various games/stories, but I hate horror movies with passion (horror books are shit too, but that's topic for another thread)

I like binge-watching story rundowns of various movies since I don't have time to actually watch full-length of this dumb crap, but I stopped watching the ones about horror movies because that shit makes me cringe. Aside from fact that 99% of these movies aren't even scary, they are all essentially the same "spooky" stories that your parents used to tell you to moralise you and scare you out of doing some thing when you were little kid ("don't do x or y will come for you!") except 100% more cringe, 200% more soy, made for grown-up men and taking themselves seriously.

I'll give you some examples- here is a lost-tape styled movie about some fags who found a few tapes that they are watching in a house that they're looting, each tape being about different "horror"

Let me do a quick rundown of plot for you:
1. Le bad dudes want to film amateur porn without the girl knowing that she plays in it, but they got their dicks bitten off, YASSSSSS!!!!!
2. Le boyfriend is an asshole, so he gets killed by romantic ex-bf stalker of his girlfriend, and she makes out with said stalker (I bet half of the cuckolds who unironically enjoyed that movie got hard while watching it)
3. some dumb shit lol
4. Le bad boyfriend is manipulating his gf into not knowing that she is an incubator for DA ALIENZ!1! and it is such ebin metaphor for LE (CHAD) MASTER MANIPULATOR MANIPULATING POOR FOIDS WHILE THEY'RE IN RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM!!1!!
5. Some dumb shit lol

Seriously, how childish and cucked do you have to be to enjoy shit like this? I could give out countless other examples of horror movies like this, but you get the idea

Adding to that, said burglars who found tapes are shown sexually assaulting some woman earlier- why are all movies directed at bugmen so obsessed with rape? Could it be that the target audience has fantasies about it and producers know that?

In the 1980s everyone idolized and was nostalgic for the 1950s
Imo you see this in movies like Back to the Future.

But as much as they idolized it the culture post sexual revolution didn't go away.
As a result the 1980s was nothing like the 1950s even though it might have had similar revived themes.
It's like the incorporation of alternative synthesizer 1980s music into EDM. Similar but never the same.

And after the 1980s it looks like rap and hip hop culture that took off in the 90s has limited how far back in the past culturally people in western countries can return to.
I thought that rap and hip hop might die out in the 2010s but instead it fused with EDM and techno remix songs.

Rap and hip hop culture and sex and drugs and rock and roll culture no matter which way you look at it isn't conducive to the traditionalism of past decades like in the 1950s.

And rap and hip hop culture has pervaded most aspects of pop culture now while rock and roll culture was going strong in the 1960s and 1980s.
Imo the birth control pill and its enabling of the sexual revolution changed everything.
Once there were no real detrimental effects to casual sex it was no longer frowned on and those who did discourage casual sex now looked ridiculous and people only paid lip service to them at most.
