Pirating video games has the same quality as playing them originally.
When it comes to movies and TV shows, not exactly. It all depends on codecs, bitrate, etc. That's why I don't watch anything on pirating sites—shit video quality. To save file size, they render it with lower quality. Most people can't notice the difference, but I can. For example, JoJo Part 5. I couldn't find Polish subtitles to download, so I had to download it from a streaming site. That was a mistake. Most of the time, it looked fine, no difference whatsoever. The problem was during faster scenes, especially fight scenes where more is happening on the screen. The video quality got messed up and pixelated. I'm surprised normies don’t complain about it. Even hentai sites have this problem. That's why I always download.
Yet, despite the fact that torrents > pirate streaming, it doesn't change the fact that buying is theoretically better.
If you take a raw video file from a Blu-ray, it weighs around 30GB. Having an entire collection of movies at that size is highly impractical.
You can download it, but the entire process will take way too long.
You can find movies, anime, or TV shows that weigh around 2GB. The problem is, they will never have the same quality as raw Blu-ray. There will always be some compromise. Fortunately, the video quality is good enough (at least better than pirate streaming) while keeping the file size manageable.
In summary: buying is better if you want the highest possible quality, but pirating is more practical.
