Everything is bigger in America than in Europe; the houses, cars, meals, people, etc. And the popular sports have very tall, tough-image athletes (NBA, NFL, WWE, etc.) so there is a huge emphasis on a man's size. The politicians, entertainers, and businesspeople are also very tall. The average American CEO is 6'1 and only 7% of CEO's are below 5'10. And every recent President was 5'11.5+. You have to go back to the 1950's for an average height president. Celebheights.com shows that leading American actors are taller than leading British ones The wage gap between short and tall men is greater than the wage gap of race or gender. The media loves to mock men for even being average height. 5'9 "little" Marco and slightly below average 5'7.5 Tom Cruise get an unbelievable amount of ridicule. On forums like bodybuilding.com, Americans use the term "manlet" and constantly insult members below 6'0 that in 2018 they removed height in forum posts. American online dating websites are famous for the "6ft or bust" profiles. In NYC, only 1% of women said they would contact a man below 5'9. I think the reason for this is because there is a culture of extreme political correctness, employment and dating uncertainty so people take out their anger on short men. They are the soft target up there with sex offenders.
