Pretty much everyone will recognize the stereotype of young boys thinking girls are annoying and not being very eager to be around them. You'll generally be told as a child that this will change as you grow up, and for most people it does. Thinking about this, does rejection by females simply stop our views and relationships with them from ever maturing beyond the childish stage of being frustrated by the differences between us and them?
From my own experience, many males grow gradually more accepting of females due to attraction to them. Their differences and personality conflicts are set aside so that they can explore their natural desire to talk to each other. When this interaction goes well, boys start enjoying the time they spend around females, and socializing with them becomes normal.
In our case, we never had positive experiences with females, so it's plausible that we cannot enjoy being around them as easily as normies because we haven't been able to progress past feeling uncomfortable due differences between us and females.
