And a "career" is kind of a sweet spot where the thing you like doing (or at least can tolerate) ends up being something that other people are willing to pay you for. If you can manage to swing that, it's really not so bad. No one says how you need to spend the money. Buy better copes, or live really modestly and just opt out of participating with rest of society when you got enough. Or buy the weapons of destruction you've always wanted to enact your revenge and go out with style (not recommended, but you do you my guy).

-Self Supportation/Financial Independence (Some derive pleasure from not having to rely on anyone else)
-Entrepreneurialism (A TON of delusional normies like to be CEOs of a business that effectively doesn't exist. You could even make one that does real things and prove that all of those chads really are just genetically lucky idiots who never had to work for anything and just beat them out of pure spite and hatred)
-Homeownership (stop paying rents, or have a space where you can do anything you want and answer to nobody)
-Travel (just to really make sure that life sucks equally everywhere and never second guess about what could have been)
-Capital Intensive Hobbies (The list is endless, and highly customized. Buy a motorcycle, a boat, fuck it, a houseboat. Buy a building downtown and open up a fast food place where you call your customers ugly fat bitches but still make the meanest kebab in 100 miles and they come back regardless. Buy 100 acres 5 hours drive away from the closest town and start a little log cabin and go off the grid. Buy top of the line computers. Buy every single game on steam with every DLC. Drink the finest scotch whisky money can buy, and buy a new bottle every week. I can do this all day. There's truly a never ending list of hobbies and price points that can drain even the most well funded wallet)
-Drugs (accidentally had some weed laced with pcp once; wowza.)
Just to add some potential context, my current copes are decently high levels of quality alcohol, and a largely unrestricted IT and technology budget (~1-2k spend every month), and lots of video games. At one point, I was in the top 150 players by total playtime in league of legends globally (even higher than large streamers, 12+ hours per day when I was really hard coping). Used to do drugs, but not really as much into that anymore. Any money I'm not using right away goes into a variety of investments, fully automated. Now I get to just kind of sit back and do my thing and let the system work. It's looking like I have 3-5 more years before I'll be totally done and fully financially independent. That's the shit that really scares me, because I honestly don't know what somebody like me will do once I have that kind of money and freedom. Might just keep working to have something meaningful to fill the time? Maybe work for free? Maybe just like a walmart greeter or something so I can live out the meme "They don't know I'm a multimillionaire" LOL
But hey, at least I'll have those options I guess. Better than nothing.
