Seen a documentary on him years ago, he got assassinated in the late 60's I think? He was ultra-based though, I remember a reading about him giving a speech at a "Nation of Islam" conference in 1961 and just bluntly stating in front of 12000 black people:
“You know that we call you niggers,” “But wouldn’t you rather be confronted by honest white men who tell you to your face what the others all say behind your back?”
He ended up getting applauded at the end of his speech and even donated $20 to the cause.
