I've honestly never really had "real" Internet friends, 13+ years ago when I used to play WoW all the god damn time I would speak to guild members in TeamSpeak or whatever and we would have banter etc but I was never really accepted into the group as one of the "guys" so to speak, it has always been that way.

Also back in the forum days I was always the unpopular poster and never in the inner circles, was never welcomed all that well on IRC servers either and when I used to play Xbox360 online I only had a handful of friends on my friendslist, I could never really get invited to join party chats or join clans even tho I really wanted too.

Femoids on the other hand always ascended to the top of forums and always got given moderator etc and orbiters would surround and defend them and sometimes at the cost of completely destroying the community.

Only time I had a "real" group of Internet friends was on 4chan and that was anonymous posting but I felt like one of the guys since we were all unknown.

sadly true. I find as I get older and have to work I have way less time and energy to spend time online with my online friends. I wouldnt be surprised if most move on without me over time it especially sucks making friends on here since many get banned and you have no other way to contact them
