Those types of society were pretty rare it seems. The only one that comes to mind is mid 1900's USA. A lot of countries were in constant war and had most of their young men die.

The best society I personally believe in is found in Plato's metaphor of Kallipolis, the beautiful city. Read "The Republic" from Plato's excerpts, a city ruled by philosopher kings (Gaurdians) who love wisdom. Rulers who abstain from materialism who rule justly and wisely. There's no better society, sadly we have "representative democracy".

Also yes, this society is totalitarian, but it's benevolent.

It's well-established that women find very few men "legitimately sexually attractive". Some women claim this number is lower than 5% of men.

So we really are THAT bad looking, in the only sense that matters, which is being sexually attractive to women.

And if we had better looks, I don't think we'd really care how society treats us. We'd be having so much sex that it wouldn't matter.

It matters if, after civilization is destroyed, we're going to try to rebuild it to be better.

There are volumes of books written on the subject of what constitutes a "good" society. There's no way you can do it justice with a brief answer.

I was expecting a more in-depth answer, but more importantly, I was hoping you'd see that it's not a simple answer.
