Cooking usually involves being close to the stove flame and heat and the ability to flip, toss and turn food, sometimes in boiling water, so that it is not too overcooked on one side. All things that make microwaving food take less effort and easier to do. But if your microwave stops working the only other option is the oven or getting takeout.

At least with some tin foil, an oven and some patience you can still heat types of frozen foods in the oven easy enough.

My mother taught me how to cook what I ate. I can see it one of two ways. She taught be because:

1. She didn't want to do it for me most of the time.
2. Knew I wouldn't have anyone when I'm older to cook for me.
