You know the only friends in college i had were weebs, i have never watched/nor liked anime. They were really cool though, so i have changed my mind about "hating" them.

One of the reasons I stopped studying Japanese was due to the fucking weebs --- they're annoying as fuck, think that Japan is like in their beloved anime shows, and are constantly gatekeeping or one-upping each other (i.e. 'I bet you didn't know this word'). Any Japanese class or meetup is guaranteed to be packed with weebs. Nobody cared about Japanese history, architecture, or literature --- their motivation was to watch anime without having to use subtitles or to understand J-pop lyrics.
