Many times I visit old forums, old forum posts, I also visit r/nostalgia to feel the past. There's something about the past commercials, tech, aesthetic, food. that today can't get. I also sometimes play retro or pixel games. And from what I have seen most other nostalgia gamers are incel tier too. I think incels are stuck in the past in many ways, we get no new experiences, the momths merge into one, just a blur of the same fucking boring routine where nothing happens.

Chads and foids get new experiences often enough that they aren't as affected by nostalgia.

Same tbh. I've recently been trying to find out what exactly happened in my childhood + artifacts from it like old books, photos, etc.

I used to nostalgia cope a lot.
I realized after a while how depressing it is to hold onto selective good memories from the past.
It just kept me from "living" life in the present and clinging to some reality that had long since past.

And also because really even the good old days aren't really so good. Your memory just blocks out the bad experiences leaving you with selective good experiences and impressions.
For that reason it's often said that nostalgia is looking at the world with rose tinted glasses.

As for the disease part: nostalgia was actually classed as a disease in earlier times

I agree. A lot of my real life personality is based completely on the past. The games I play are all old ones I never played in the past that I've heard of, or just revisiting. I listen to nostalgic sounding vaporwave, watch dead mall videos a LOT, and I just like old shit (old shit that I remember or that I think is cool).

I still remember enjoying a Friday night by walking up to a nearby Blockbuster and just wandering around for a good hour or something. Maybe I'd rent a game I wanted, or perhaps just rent a flick and buy a couple of snacks. Times were simpler back then.

I used to nostalgiacope somewhat. But not anymore, the past to me is an endless cornucopia of pain and regret. I have very fond memories and gopd experiences from college life but I refrain from delving on them too much because it is overshadowed by all the things I missed out on.

I get this, I have lots of files and pics and stuff left over from the early to mid 2000s, sometimes just images of forum posts of people being autistic, I can't let go of the past somehow.

One thing that obsesses me is how theoretically it was possible to be normal and have sex during any of these time periods, not just the Numa Numa period of the early 2000s.
Even way back in the 1970s you could have had almost everything you needed, TV, comics, primitive videogames, fun hobbies, air travel and tourism, working with primitive computers if that's what you wanted to do, and above all interesting sex with women that were already pretty "liberated" and letting it all out in the bedroom.
But nope, you are like a ghost completely cut off from all this, never really alive in any time period you happen to pass through, just accelerating through like a time traveller.
