It’s so so over. Chad has life long memories to these songs

Yes. Mid-90's to early 00's music especially (I'm an oldcel)

I know this feel. In retrospect I could have tried harder to be mainstream, but it's honestly pretty stupid to take cues from music companies when the breadth of the world's music is available online.

Idk man, Gangnam Style is still pretty dope and it was around 7 years ago.

The Miley Cyrus song depresses me. The cunts at my school always played it.

Help me with music discovery, I usually find an average of one enjoyable song per every passing year now.

This song depresses me the most because it came from the last good year of my life (2010) kind of as a farewell to the good years of my life and the beginning to the current shithole situation I’ve been in for the last 8 years now.

I mostly just find a song or type of sound I liked used in movies or films I watch. I like Euro indie cinema so that led me to be exposed to Electroswing which is my current schtick.

Definitely. But not those specific songs

I like 2000s J rock like this especially the vocals.

I also loved Fall Out Boy during Infinity on High period. What can you recommend for me other than Panic at the Disco?

No not at all. I've been listening to good music only my entire life. That sticks with you in a good way. This normie overproduced pop music is literally designed to make you depressed in general, you realize that dontcha?

It can't be considered "wasted" when you never could compete in the first place, it's like saying starving Africans wasted an opportunity to get food when they were in middle of desert.

Well my youth can't be wasted if I never had any opportunities in the first place, hence why I don't really feel regret. However I know what you mean, stuff I listened to 8-10 years ago sometimes depresses me now.

I only one I kinda like is Fireflies. The rest of them suck.

That aside, I do get nostalgic over old songs sometimes, not necessarily depressed though.

nope because didn't listen to current popular music at any time

Fuaaark that first song even though I hate it, reminds me so much of when my mother kicked me out.

It was playing on the radio when my dad was driving me to his place.

It's definitely a sign of the times. Check out music from the late 60s. Those dudes were fucking crazy amounts of pussy.

Yeah i know that feel man. Sometimes i wish i didn't skipped school so much.

Do you have any links to back this up? Wouldn’t shock me

I actually avoid certain establishments and have quit retail jobs that had music like that blasting because it made me depressed

It’s why I only listen to hip hop tbh. Would rather listen to music about money, violence and hoes before heart string pulling pop music

I tend to cope with Latin American pop/rock from the late 2000s-early 2010s.

I had a pretty decent childhood so I tended to idealize and dream about my teenhood... How wrong I was.

Same. I was listening to smooth jazz, 80’s pop, 70’s R&B, 30’s and 40’s Swing and some 90’s alternative in the 00’s and 10’s. Any modern song I know was learned through osmosis from the overwhelming propaganda of mass media.

I don’t think it’s supposed to make you depressed, it’s supposed to be highly relatable and have mass appeal, that’s why most songs are about love. If you’ve never experienced love or what normies think love is, then yeah, it’s probably depressing.

sounds dope can you recommend me more jap bands?

Yeah, "We are young" by fun. hits me hard on my memories. I had still hope at that time.

All music depresses me now, i used to enjoy it a lot as a teen but now for some reason it only amplifies my depression.

To be honest, I don't know much Japanese music despite Japan being the only country whose music I can stand. That Mintjam song exemplifies my taste with a tinge of sadness, aggression, high energy while still sounding enjoyable to listen too. It also makes me very nostalgic but I can't remember where this nostalgia comes from.
