well, not self defense in the classical definition, but IMO yes, even if they were not facing physical harm they were in mental torment, and so it is justified. it's not like they wanted it to be that way, they had no other choice

Cho, there's a case. He was mentally tortured his entire life. By classmates, parents, teachers, therapists, etc..."You had a hundred billion chances and ways to have avoided today. Cho was nuts, but I understand why he became nuts.
