The thing Thailand has going for it - you can get work as an English teacher here to support yourself. In Manila that's not really possible to do so you have to find some other way of making money (and most here, including myself, have no in-demand skills so there is no other way).

I dunno if I preferred the first or second year. Remember, the first year I was working 5 days a week, the second year I was working 1 day. As I've posted many many times on this forum, I think money is just a cope and it doesn't make me happy at all. Pussy is what makes me happy.

The whole reason I went back home was to get higher qualifications that would enable me to get a better job as a teacher in Thailand. Yeah, I know that kinda contradicts what I just wrote above, but obviously if you gotta work anyway it might as well be for more cash. Did the CELTA (on the UK governments dime), did a PGCE (on the governments dime), and currently finishing off my MA (again, on the governments dime). With those quals I'll get better paid work, and if I ever decide to go work in Vietnam or China or whatever, I'll be a much more attractive candidate. I'm not sure whether it was all worth it though - after all it did cost me my great relationship with a PSL 5-6 girl, and also cost me 18 miserable months of my life. I probably wouldn't make the same choice if faced with the same decision again, but having come this far I might as well just stick it out and get the final qualification, it's only 3 more weeks after all.

I'll never return to the West after I leave in April. Not for anything. Are you planning to stay in Thailand permanently after April graduation?
Do you see yourself settling down with one of the 5-6 PSL Thai girls (if it's not too hard to get one since the last time you had one?)
Also do you see yourself getting married with one and/or having kids with? You're mid 20s, where do you see yourself at 30 (in 5 years)?

Yeah I'll stay permenantly. Although post hair transplant I'll probably go to the Philippines for a few months until my hair grows back as I'll be PSL 3 for a while until it does.

Will likely settle down eventually but would like a few years of slaying first.

Wouldn't really like to take care of kids (though I believe having them is the ultimate measure of success, it's the raising them part I'd hate. Because of that id actually be happy to knock up a ONS girl, but wouldn't be happy if it was an LTR.
