Same here bro, but youth culture was huge back then, you only had to belong to a urban tribe and that was it, you could get a good amount of friends and a girlfriend. Our society has a real obsession with the underdog archetype that is definitely very prevalent in film. It's probably somewhat responsible for the idea of "ascending." It's fun to imagine the incel nerd becoming a chad and fucking stacy and rising above his bullies but my suspension of disbelief has a total hernia after watching films where this is overly portrayed. The myth that the bully jocks just end up working in fast food after high school and become fuck ups while the nerds become successful later in life and end up finally getting the girl is such fucking uber cope. The truth is that men who bully others at a young age and can navigate high school more easily are far more likely to end up successful as adults. This applies to their income, relationships with their male peers and with women in the dating world. They're also far more likely to lose their virginity at younger ages.

Notice how this obsession only started after the sexual revolution though, or at least one generation after, just enough for the effects to start affecting society as a whole.
They know that once they opened the Pandora box that was female hypergamy there was going to be a large slew of men that were going to be left out of the equation of "free love" so they started making all those blue pilled "nerd" or social outcast movies.
But you know what's funny in the vast majority of those movies? We rarely see the girl version of the nerds. When the nerd gets the girl, she is a Stacy. When he doesn't get her, he still gets nothing because somehow the nerd's looksmatch is never shown.
Why aren't all the nerds in the Revenge of the Nerds film hooking up with the "nerdy" girls? It's like the concept of a looksmatch has been lost by society completely, and my guess is that the "nerdy" girls didn't suffer through the effects of the sexual revolution so it never became a social issue. Only ugly men suffer, never women.

Just look at films like "Tall Girl." The main character literally has orbiters and shit but shows very little romantic interest in any of them. So the idea of her being unable to find companionship is totally made up. She just has unrealistically high standards for men. Instead the love interest is this fucking foreign exchange student chad from Sweden who she swoons over throughout the entire film and ends up getting with. I have no idea how non-female viewers are suppose to sympathize with her. I've never in my entire life heard a man say a woman being too tall is a deal breaker. But I can't tell you how many fucking times I've heard a woman say she wouldn't date a man shorter than herself under absolutely any circumstances
