My point still stands. The idea of life after death is just a superstition meant to give solace in the face of and explain the unknown. People used to believe in other superstitions too, such as demons being responsible for disease or gods being responsible for the weather, but now we no longer believe in them because science has explained how they really work. Science still can't explain what happens after death, so people continue to believe in the afterlife.
