I downloaded a rom of a game I haven't played in probably close to 30 years. I remember being able to make it to the last stage but never being able to beat it. I remember the first stage being very easy. So I played it for 20 minutes straight.....I couldn't beat the first level, and I was "locked-in" on turbo tryhard mode. This was something I could do quite easily at age 8. Then I came to a sobering realization....I'm unironically dumber than I was at age 8.

Don't get me wrong, I've learned more things about the world, I'm less naive, and I have a larger vocabulary now than I did when I was 8. But in terms of fluid intelligence....8 year old me mogs late 30s me to oblivion. Like if you gave 8 year old me and current me a novel problem, 8 year old me would solve it faster (assuming either of us were capable of solving it to begin with).

And I was a dumb even compared to kids my age back then. I think my intellectual peak was around age 12. After that, I started falling further and further behind my peers intellectually. I went from kinda dumb to needing things (that everyone else understood perfectly the first time) to be spelled out to me. I took some blows to the head during my teenage years, so that was part of it, but low IQ runs in my family so obviously it's largely just genetic.

Truth nuke. I remember solving complex problems with my computer in 9th grade and having amazing memorization skills and note taking abilities for difficult classes. I would also be able to write long essays in the span of an hour and get As in them. I've grown to become such a dumbass with time. Where did all this intelligence go? It's sad to think that I am experiencing my brain rotting in real time despite being pretty young. I can barely operate my computer and do basic shit nowadays. Also, my attention span is non existent which renders my iq for longer problems useless as I can't even focus and start.

What's you IQ if you don't mind me asking? My IQ isn't terrible now although it's certainly not genius either. My 12 year old self was way smarter than me now in terms of learning ability, even though I have more street smarts now. Years of sleep issues and other shit took it's toll (lack of sleep literally makes you dumber over time).

He's got a month because he's gotten many previous warnings for incelshaming, bluepilled posts and cherrypicking. This was his 25th warning. And yes the post was deleted. Basically the jist of his post was basically "looks don't matter even ugly fat short guys get girls easily".

I've never taken a formal IQ test, but I'd like to, just to get closure. I'd estimate my IQ to be somewhere in the low 80s. But i'm starting to fear it might actually be sub80.

Doubt it's sub80. Sub80 wouldn't even be able to have normal conversations here at all I would assume

Reading your threads you don't come across low iq at all especially considering you actual write a substantial amount in most of your posts in the sea of users that write the first phrase or string of buzzwords that come to mind on every thread they click on. I'm guilty of doing the same a lot of the time and I'm trying to change that. But I guess writing on a forum doesn't necessarily demonstrate how good your core problem solving ability is.

Yeah, being able to write in complete sentences isn't the feat of intelligence some zoomers think it is. Also I just put more effort into my posts than a lot of users. My reading comprehension is pretty bad, I have to reread some sentences 3 or 4 times to understand what its saying. If you were to talk to me in real life where I have to think and respond in real time, my low IQ would be evident straight away.

And yeah, my core problem solving ability is complete shit.

There are career prospects for high IQ autists (programmer, engineer) but if you have an IQ of 80, you're useless for anything that isn't dead end minimum wage labor. My tiny brain was built for (working at) KFC.

In terms of general lifemaxxing ability I get where you're coming from. IQ is extremely important on that front. But it makes sense that on this forum specifically that would be controversial since autism has much more of an affect on inceldom compared to IQ which is more of a limiting factor when it comes to careermaxxing.

I can offer two explanations:

1. Your hand-eye coordination has deteriorated over time.
2. You just dislike the game now. I know you said you're try-harding but do you actually enjoy the experience of playing the game?

This has happened to me before, and it's 2 in my case. I've just gotten used to fancier toys and the average 1990s NES game can't hold my attention any longer. Hand-eye coordination doesn't really burn away that fast.

By the way I'm professionally tested as average range IQ and I can relate, so it's not really a low IQ thing like you're making it out to be. To be honest I would give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you said "lower IQ" as shorthand for something else, but 80 IQ is low as fuck ngl so I'm getting the kids gloves for you tbh.

I always question what my true IQ is. I had people tell that I'm dumb and others have claimed I'm intelligent. I have never gotten consistent responses on where my intelligence lies in. Maybe I lie in the extremes for different subsets that make up your IQ, but I'd imagine my ADHD and schizophrenia might have some effect on it. There was one moment in my life that stuck out to me the most though. It was during kindergarten, and the teacher made my class write the number 8 the "proper way", but I kept writing it with two circles sticking together. I was only able to write correctly when I got home. Till this day, I'm not sure if I struggled to write it because I'm low-IQ, or I'm just not susceptible to indoctrination, since the proper way of the writing the number 8 may have seemed to be more complicated than how I used to write it.
