It's unironically about how humans judge potential mating partners by the smell of their shit (subliminally), and how due to modern hygeine and toilets, we've totally abandoned this mating strategy. Now it's all about looks.
The same phenomena occurred with the advent of deoderant and colonge and daily showers. We no longer can smell and subliminally judge each others genes.
Many incels fail in the looks department, but historically pheremones are much more important.
