In that case though a) at least we understand our own punishment. we have no idea what comes after death and b) if they're later found to be not guilty, they can be freed.

A life time in prison is a fate worse than death. The person in prison knows they’re in prison while the dead person does not even know they’re dead.

You’re bringing up two solid good points with what you’re saying. Enough people end up in jail over false accusations so if the death penalty could be given more easily the horrible false accuser’s would end up feeling even more motivated to make false accusations. Those who falsely accuse others can be full of hate so you could consider there is a serious chance a false acusers would want the falsely accused to die over the acusations being made. When you talk about who can choose who decides and who doesn’t decide you’re going in to the area of who’s qualified to make such big changes and who’s not qualified to make such big changes. People just make up what people are qualified for out of thin air that’s how I see the whole power trip that goes on in politics
