I'm astonished at the amount of hypergamy females manage to pull off

It's crazy, really. I'm talking about couples here, so not even casual sex. 

All decent girls have chadlite boyfriends, at least where I live. Couples are extremely mismatched, the guy is always good looking, the girl is ugly. I don't understand how they can pull it off. Why these guys, that are above average, settle down with a beyond average girl? 
If it was casual sex I'd understand, but these are couples.....relationships. 
It doesn't make sense. 

If females can get away with this much hypergamy, it's totally over for us, even trying doesn't make sense
