1) Communism (which OP is talking about) was a very simple life, rather enjoyable if you are incel-tier like us. Do simple work, get a family, and have a strong community with relatively little degeneracy. The only major downsides is you are very poor and you have to obey the authoriarian gov't. There is a reason why the communist party is still the second largest party in Russia, with even more support from men than women. Plus the poorest in Russia is actually significantly worse off under capitalism now then during communism. Also like OP said, ironically all of them were very patriarchal.
