By ‘shit genes’ I assume you mean genes that produce phenotypes that will make an organism less likely to pass on its genotype. The problem here is that ‘shit genes’ is a very relative term. ‘Shit genes’ on the African savannah 10,000 years ago meant not being able to digest certain foods and dying early or having low bone density or low muscular endurance. These traits may still occur but they are not common; most humans today are born fairly healthy. ‘Shit genes’ relative to today’s standards might mean ugly facial features or having a poor natural muscular build compared to Chad. Just because ‘shit genes’ still exist does not mean natural selection has not occurred.

You misunderstand eugenics. Eugenics does not necessarily involve murder or even coercion; it simply means taking natural selection into our own hands I.e providing financial incentives for high IQ individuals to breed with high IQ individuals or providing grants to those with low IQ to get sterilised.

Also, just because disadvantageous recessive genes can get passed along does not mean that species are not successfully adapting to their environment. The same is true of eugenics
