D makes D sound
A makes Aaa sound
T makes T sound
DATA has four letters, thus you have to move your mouth in four different positions

Yeah, since I've been learning German I'm even less of a fan of english than I was before. English is an easy language to learn in general but its innumerable idiosyncrasies and inconsistencies don't endear it to me much. It is a good language for complex ideas thoughMainländer said:I say "day ta" (more like "day ra" tbh) because I mostly learned American English. Those differences are funny, just have a phonetically consistent language theory.
The written version of it is very good. The spoken one is way too inconsistent and too many difficult sounds.ScornedStoic said:Yeah, since I've been learning German I'm even less of a fan of english than I was before. Got me thereFullTimeLoser said:being uncivilized is good tho
I'd actually say the opposite, the spoken is quite easy according to my experience with immigrants and language teachers, at least in respect to the grammar and rules. Much easier than something like German. Inconsistencies definitely are commonplace but they tend to be exceptions as opposed to rules, so that most immigrants who know barely coherent broken english I can actually talk to as opposed to the Arabs or Chinese that only know broken German.Mainländer said:The written version of it is very good. But English grammarmogs German to oblivion. German grammar is terrible. Plurals are a nightmare, genders make no sense, cases suck, etc.
