if you were given to choose between having your conections with your family and talking to them but you won't be able to get a gf or just having a girlfriend but never talking to your family again?

asking this because i saw a lot of people where i live (muslim country) that marry women against the will of their parents and then the parents cut all connections with the child. it's just another way to make your kids more celibate by not encouraging them to get a girl.
some people remain single and never marry since the parents only want the child to betabuxx some random girl from family.

why would they get mad, i get it if it's non muslim foid but the country is mostly muslim

because the woman might not wear hijab or niqab. she might not be someone very close to the family or she might have whorish looks (everything that doesn't include hijab and covering every inch of the body is whorish).
it's only 10% of families who believes like this but most other families don't give a fuck.
