I see this forum as a way of venting my sad life. If my life is no longer sad, staying here would not make sense anymore.
Technically, I'm still trying when I occasionally approach girls, because the hope is that if it goes anywhere I will ascend. But I have enough reference experience to know that that's a false hope, it won't work, I won't ascend and I'm stuck here.
It's reasonable to make an attempt every so often to remind yourself of your hopelessness.
