Me too, although I'm not interested in money, palaces, yachts, other luxuries. I would have awarded myself the highest military rank in the army of my country and probably would have awarded myself with all the medals and orders of my country.

Yes, but at the same time I would adopt a paternalistic attitude towards my people and try to improve their lives by developing the country and consolidating its sovereignty. I would certainly live in luxury and use state resources for my personal goals, but I would not sell my country to foreign interests and collaborate with parasites.

It doesn't matter, the very fact that you are the highest person in your country. You can veto the law and you are the commander-in-chief of the army.

I'm going to assume that my position is stable and that my people like me, and if so I would do as @Castaway said and live in luxury but not to the extent that im taking away resources from my own country and letting my enemies take advantage of it

Id take a bit of money so i can live in peace and than find the most competent man i can find and give him the leadership no way i can deal with running a country especielly the shitty one i come from

However I'd never let my personal taste influence my policy. Policy is where good governance comes from, not ideology, just simple policy.

On second thought, "technocratic" is not the right word. I am disgusted by the over continuing advancement of technology. Further advancement in the technological field will lead to a small group of (((people))) with no idea of how to rule, finding themselves with exuberant power. What I mean is more so like a "Rule of the Intelligent".
