There are huge benefits to self sufficiency, no doubt, but nobody is going to change the ruling order by learning how to grow crops.

yeah and that individualism brought you feminism. Capitalism is collectivism. They call it individualism but it isn't. Real individualism is pure anarchy with no rules and capitalism and any of its forms is far far from individualism in broad understanding.
