They will be squatters in the abandoned schools. I wouldnt advise it as a few years ago in our city we had the military with apache helicopters doing urban warfare simulation with live ammo in such an abandoned school and neighbors was crying bloody murder cozz the noise scare their doggies.

Not bad enough. I thought people would be mad that all this action was being taken to protect older generations, when the government doesn't seem too bothered by younger generations' complaints. The exact opposite has happened. People who once disparaged public officials are praising them for their responses (their late responses by the way) to the pandemic. Cuomo and Baker were both disliked by the more vocal liberal contingent in their states, but now I see memes praising them all over the internet. I have seen the same praise for Boris Johnson in the UK when his initial response was to let the virus rip. Maybe all the estrogen in the water has turned us softer than previous generations

If quarantines continue for a long time, that means the virus has spread out of control. Which means the healthcare system will be overwhelmed starting in a couple weeks. The secondary and tertiary effects of that are worrisome and will lead to a martial law situation in areas where this occurs. Looting and rioting will become an every night occurrence.
I hope people have a plan to defend themselves personally if this happens. The police will not be responding even to burglary calls at a certain point. They already said as much in a couple cities already.
Economically, that ship has already sailed. 'We the people' are debt slaves to the Fed for life and will spend the rest of our existence working to pay off bailouts for mega corps and banks. Those who have jobs at least. Unemployment will be massive; unimaginable.

If the government doesn't have a plan to deal with this soon including payments (i.e. bribes for the peasants to not revolt), a rent/mortgage holiday, and other guarantees, we will see civil unrest within a month tops. In my view, the odds of a collapse are likely in the economic sense, but not highly probable in the long term social sense, because the military would restore some sense of order before things got completely insane on a wide scale.
