The "holocaust" has the same purpose as every other victim narrative. It can be compared with how feminists use the "historical oppression of women" to justify female privilege in the modern world. Women, like Jews, cannot seriously be considered oppressed any longer (just the opposite), but they pretend as if they still are because this wins for themselves a sort of immunity.
Jewish victimology is extraordinary only for how multifaceted it is. It's a product of how multifaceted Jews are. At the same time that the "holocaust" excuses the crimes of a rogue, racialist regime, it's also the basis for liberal morality surrounding mass-immigration and humanitarian intervention (e.g. "Assad is GASSING his own people, so overthrow him and welcome refugees").
