For most career paths, schools are basically the only environments you will come across where the gender ratio is at worst, equal between men and women, or at least heavily skewed towards women.
The University I went to had around 60,000 students. Of those students, the gender ratio was consistently 65% women, 45% men in the four years I was there. Despite this, I still never had a girlfriend or even managed to get a date. Basically if you couldn't get a girlfriend despite this kind of ratio it's just not meant for you. that's not a societal problem, it's a problem specifically with you as a person. Are 40,000 women wrong, or are you wrong?
This would be my last chance to be in an environment with so many women of a similar age. Now my work environment skews 85% men. The women I do know are married if not showered constantly by male attention. It's actually over. Nothing left but work and cope.
