I wish the government would drug everyone and keep us happy with pills

You've probably heard of these dystopic scenarios many times. Brave new world by Aldous Huxley had "soma" pills for example, and there are many other instances of people calling this a scary future.

But I would love for this to happen. Mandatory or optional pills for everyone that keep you happy/content with your life. No depression, no anxiety, just fake happiness. My life is shit anyway and it will continue to be shit, I'd love to experience fake happiness.

We're forced to work to survive anyway, why not be forced to work but happy?
