Venting I wish my mom would have went to an ENT doctor and got me surgery to improve my nose breathing

My mum did so much shit wrong during my upbringing its insane. I involuntary mouthbreathed most of my life and my mom never cared to go to a doctor with me due to that. I recently went to a doctor and got diagnosed that my nasal septum is crooked and my nasal turbinates are enlarged, making it very hard for me to nose breathe and i need to get surgery to fix it (luckily insurance pays for it). Both my parents have normal, non recessed chins. If i would have gotten that surgery early i most likeld wouldnt have a recessed chin and had a better developed facial structure in general, but its too late for that since puberty is long finished for me.

My mom did take me to an orthodontist when i was 11 actually who wanted to fix my jaw and open bite but i was scared cause of all the machines they were gonna apply in my mouth (i have autism) it really is all my own fault that i turned out this way. At 11 it was early enough to fix it all yet i was a scared coward autist ffs

I had exactly the same problem. I‘ve got a slightly recessed chin as well likely because of it. I had severe sleep issues because of it too. The surgery fixed most problems, however the nose looks more aquiline because of it. The anhesthesia felt increadibly good. Would do again for sure. Can‘t speak for anything other than first world countries though.
