It's OK to have ass-hole characters in media if the point is that they are an asshole but I agree it's kind of weird when it's portrayed as being normal.

Haven't watched that much Regular Show but I think in that show they are supposed to be flawed characters and they feel more like real world stereotypes that you actually see so I feel like it's less weird.
Like Mordecai being a massive simp is very realistic and portrayed as being a bad thing but also human and relatable.
