I've heard the old one is better but how is the new one? also nice DOOM eternal gif playing it for first time myself.
I like stuff like the Grudge or ring(first one) or basically japnese horror since the fact japan is different to say us and that makes it more interesting.
Yes the old one is better but tbh they are both kinda ~meh.
as in 2016? I do prefer the tone of it with it being more gritty? like Eternal being more arcade like and the new multiplayer seems meh.

Watch the original 1980's version adaptation of Stephen King's vampire novel "Salem's Lot" instead.
I was surprised that there was barely any cheesiness to the film once I sat down and watched it despite it being from the 80's.

Not an outright horror, but Manhunter (1986) is an amazing and overlooked film.
Tbh I’ve watched a lot of horror movies and they’re all scrummy, only good ones are the blackpilled teen-slasher movies that are horror-comedy like Halloween or Scream. I really enjoy watching those.
Edit: Worst horror movie by far was The Descent, basically a movie riddled with feminist propaganda and a female crew. I watched it just see if my hunch for it was correct.

Grave Encounters is alright if you want more found footage stuff. Rec 1 too I guess, the rest of the Rec series is more of a "look at these cool zombie kills" type of movies.

I thought the new Halloween movie from 2018 was pretty good. It's the only recent horror movie that got horror right.
My all-time favorite horror movies are:
- Friday The 13th Part 6: Jason Lives. It is by far the best Friday the 13th movie, in fact it's kinda the only "great" horror movie from the series.
- Return Of The Living Dead. It's a semi-comedy zombie movie.
- Event Horizon. Super creepy sci-fi horror.

I like the ones that are more realistic if you now what I mean, not something like the Saw franchise.
Okay, I will get you a list. I, however, think the first Saw movie should interest you. I'm not into the whole torture porn subgenre either but the first movie is a great movie. There's no torture sequences there, only the sequels made it that way.
You just have a short attention span.
