I want to fix my sleep and stop being a night owl

I know @VideoGameCoper is an extreme night owl, I wouldn't say I'm that extreme, but I go to sleep at around 3 am - 5 am, and I wake up between 11 am - 1 pm. Brutal for nightowlcels.

I want to stop NEETing, and sleep and wake at a normal time.

I'll probably put a bunch of alarms, like 10 alarms between 6 am - 8 am, so I can wake up at a normal time, and focus on trying to wake up early. So that if I wake up early consistently, i'll probably end up going to sleep early after a month of adjustion.

I'm not going to try to fall asleep early, because that never works. I just toss and turn, which is why I want to focus more on waking up early, and not going to sleep early.

Besides Alarm Clocks, what else can I do to fix my messed up sleep schedule?

you can't OD on that, so don't worry

just go with the wave of tiredness you feel instead of trying to fight it, because if you do and succeed, you'll be up for a VERY long time

I don't know man. You are gonna suffer a lot regardless. Going against your body like that is harmful. Being at odds with dayshift society is partially why night owls die 10 years earlier on average. I'm gonna try to get a nightshift job.
 
I fixed it naturally myself. Go to sleep early everynight. And wake up at a certain fixed time every morning and start jerking off. After a week or 2, your sleep shedule will shift.

Ik there's people who are night owls genetically, I'm probably more of a night owl genetically because even without stimulation, I naturally go to sleep later and wake up later, but there's also being a night owl from habits.

I would say I'm a night owl from both, because the 3 things that keep me up at night are social media, porn, and vidya. I quit porn/gooning, it's haram, but I still do vidya and social media.

I know there was 1 time where I had a shitty night of sleep so I went in bed super early at 6 pm, and I woke up naturally at 4 am.

I basically don't want to throw in the towel and accept being a night owl, but try to change it to adjust to normfag society.

I was literally tossing and turning until now and it's 4:23 am. I just decided I'm going to try to pull an all nighter and stay up because I know if I sleep now, I'l just wake up super late.

Mine kept getting shitter and shitter before I knew it I realized I wasn’t away from the 24 hour revolution from my original sleep time. So that’s what I did.

I'll try to fix it naturally. I tried to go to sleep earlier today, but I just tossed and turned until 4:26 am now, so I'm going to try to pull an all nighter to go to sleep early today, and over time, I'll try to go to sleep early and wake up early.

You have to rinse and repeat it for a few days before it grows effective

That makes sense. That's like going to sleep at 4 am, and waking up at 2 pm, then the next day, going to sleep at 8 am, waking up at 5 pm, next day going to sleep at 10 am........ eventually until you're sleeping at 10 pm and waking up at 8 am.

Brutal, but that's effective.

Brutal. Hope it works for you. I’m too much of a genetic night owl to change combined with my habits. Also, do you sleep straight through? I don’t. My body wakes me up to piss at least once each time

I'm a super heavy sleeper, meaning I can sleep through things for hours. That messes up my sleep schedule, because it makes it hard to get up at a normal time even with alarms.

Not sure if that’s better or worse than me. I do know having your body wake you up from a deep sleep to piss is brutal, and it happens every night almost, plus makes falling back asleep hard

You probably have it worse, because at least I still get 6 - 8 hours of sleep because it's always an uninterrupted block, because I can't wake up. One time when I was 17, I literally pissed the bed because I couldn't even wake up to pee (It was a 1 time thing, I'm not Bed Wetter Sasuke), nothing can wake me up when I'm asleep.

But segmented sleep with a night owl schedule is very brutal.

That’s good you sleep continuously at least. Hope it stays like that. Even though from start to finish I’m in bed around 7-8 hours, it’s far less sleep than that because it’s broken and takes a long time to get back to sleep. Plus, waking up like that disrupts your sleep stages and whatever waves are going on in your brain

I can’t. I have various health conditions not related to inceldom that require a medication that quite literally has insomnia as a side effect. I have to be on this med indefinitely as well. It also makes you retain more water and have to piss more at night

That's definitely a challenging situation. I know @Friezacel has the same issue as you in terms of waking up multiple times in the night and having sleep/health issues.

yeah, i realized i could do that when i noticed that instead like most people who complain about their messed up sleep schedules where they go to sleep at 6 and wake up at 2 pm... i was literally sleeping at 2pm...

Thanks for that advice, I'll probably make a morning routine maybe, so when I wake up, I have that routine as the reason.

Sun gazing is popular... I heard morning sun is better for you than setting sun..

Yoga, jogging (with a hammer- if black) or martial arts katas, etc...
