Haven't watched it recently but I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode of FIM and most of Equestria Girls.
I really haven't gotten caught up in later seasons of Pony Life though, I feel like a traitor =/

Did you start off with the 2-part premiere featuring Nightmare Moon?



It really helps set the tone for the darker feel of FIM compared to the preceding movies and TVs which were a lot sillier. Would recommend you watch before rearching conclusions based on the mid-season filler. the first/last tend to be the most dramatic.
