I think it's natural to want some degree of "crudeness", for most people

Social interaction without crudeness feels sterile and boring and... often like you're being oppressed, right?

Human beings are naturally crude sometimes.

When modern society tries to stamp out huge swathes of "offensive" behaviour... what you end up with is a society that feels oppressed and is constantly holding its tongue, which is fundamentally unsatisfying for probably 90% of people.

Just something I was thinking about just now!

I think what we have right now is a combination of the worst of both worlds.

At least in an "oppressive" society you wouldn't have people engaging in offensive behavior.
At least in a "free" society you can do what you want and express yourself.

I feel what we have now is an oppressive society to those who aren't woke. Those who are normies, or antiwoke, or right wing, those are cancelled and demonized and suffer harsh consequences.

As for the woke leftists? They can do and say whatever they want. Women can talk shit about men. They can humiliate men. Talk shit about white people. They can make false accusations. They can accuse anyone and anything of being racist or sexist. They can post online "I wish all men were dead" and suffer 0 consequence. No one gives a fuck.

Personally, I feel I absolutely need more freedom. I wish I had more freedom, to swear out loud at work, and online and even post hateful shit in mainstream social media. I'm definitely more inclined towards the "free" society in that regard.

Be aggressive. All engaging social interactions have an underlying sense of offense in the form of jokes, banter or bullying of other people. We as humans are naturally egotistical beings so we enjoy to tease, conquer, toppin someone in conversation or making fun of others.
Even in cooperation there is a sense of trying to satisfy individualistic needs.

In the solitary exercise of achieving intellectual feats, there is a need to satisfy one's own vanity. As you see, human beings always seek to exercise power in one way or another.

Yes, sterilizing our social interactions makes them insipid.
