I’m trying to read a novel and it took me an hour to finish 30 pages.

:feelsrope::feelsrope:

Same some people are just better

Nothing wrong with reading slow. Just have more time to enjoy the book

You get faster, the more you read.

I have to back track after every few pages because I lose focus.

how to cure brainfog?

Hah, I'm the same. Takes me a while to read a book, have bad reading comprehension, and have to backtrack to. God, I'm so low IQ :feelscry:

I'm slow in understanding in what I am reading or listening even more when it is time pressured, I get distracted.

It takes me forever to read too, I'll continuously read over sentences I just read, paragraphs, sometimes whole page to really absorb the informations. And flip back to certain pages to certain plotpoints or things I might have forgotten or looked over. Looking up words I don't know in the dictionary too.

same with manga

Sometimes I'm like that with books, at least if what I'm reading is difficult to understand.

I read fast but forget what I am reading about because adhd

2 minutes per page is pretty average though, but I guess it does depend on font size, if english is your mother tongue etc

You will get better at it if you read a lot

I read really fast but because of my ADHD I just get so bored and zone out and it all becomes a blurry jumbled mess in my eyes if it's not the most interesting thing in the world, it's funny because I love reading studies and papers and things of that nature, but when it comes to books and such I prefer audiobooks.

My ADHD makes me lose focus.

I tried reading Papers on arxiv but too low iq to understand anything.

30 pages in 1 hour is slow? :lul::lul:

I read like 10 pages in 1 hour!

Just listen to audiobooks while you're doing stuff, you can learn a lot of interesting stuff and even if you're not focused on listening, it all gets implanted into your subconscious, when I first started listening to just hours and hours of books and people talking about different political stuff for months and months I started using words I didn't know I knew.

It's not a competition, atleast you're reading in the first place...
Most people don't
