When people say this to me, I immediately laugh in their faces and get angry at the same time because the "old me" allowed people to walk over them, allowed people to treat them like they were a creature from another planet, allowed people to invalidate their feelings and wants, allowed people to disrespect them without any resistance, etc. but no more!
